About Parks Departments

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), also known as Board of Parks and Recreation or Park Board, is used by many government bodies to describe the parts of their organizations that oversee public parks and recreational public works (also called park districts).

The Parks and Recreation Department also provides a variety of leisure activities aimed at every age level. Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Department coordinates the rental of a number of shelter houses, as well as, indoor facilities suited for any occasion. They are safe zones for children and teens and offer families an opportunity to enjoy special activities and events close to home.

The DPR has recreation centers in every county, you always within a few miles from anywhere. These centers are your gateway to a broad range of fun and challenging activities.
